Kindergarten Start Dates: Half of our kindergarten students will attend on September 6th from 8:15 – 9:45. The other half will attend from 10:15 – 11:45. All Kindergarteners will start attending on Wednesday September 7th.

This will allow Mrs. Ouellette and Mrs. McElman to spend more time with your child on their first day of school, ensuring they have a calmer, easier introduction and leave feeling excited, secure, and optimistic about their future at KCS!

Grade 1 – 5 Start Dates: September 6, 2022 is the first day for grades 1 – 5! We are excited to see our returning students and hear all about their summer. The first day back is such a special day and we are so excited to see all of our returning students and meet our new students. We will be sure any new students are buddied up with a returning student so they do not feel alone on their first day at KCS.

Parents/Guardians, please feel welcome to walk your child onto school grounds and help them find their teacher and friends. Your child’s teacher will let you know when it is time to say goodbye so they can make their way to their classroom and start their new school year!

Drop Off: 7:45 – 7:55

Please drop your child off on the side of the school on Fairview Dr. starting at 7:45.

We will be on duty between 7:45 and 8:00. If you arrive after 8:00, please walk your child into the office and sign them in with Miss Carlyn. Thank you!

Dismissal Times

K-2 students will be dismissed at 1:30. Students are to be picked up at the same location as the morning drop off which is at the side of the school on Fairview Dr.

If your K-2 student takes the bus, they will go home on the 2:20 bus.  They will be supervised while they wait for the bus.

3-5 students will be dismissed at 2:20 and can be picked up at the side of the school on Fairview Dr., following the same procedure at the morning drop off.

How do I know what bus my child should take?

Please go to this website: :  Taking the bus – Anglophone West School District (nbed.ca)

You can type in your address, and it should give you the bus number for the morning and the afternoon bus runs. It also tells you want time the bus will be picking up and dropping off your child.

School Cash Online

It is preferrable to pay all school costs (school supplies, fieldtrips, hot lunches, etc…) using School Cash Online.  The link can be found on the KCS website.

If you need to pay using cash, we will accommodate, but please make every effort to use School Cash Online if possible.

School Supply Shopping Made Easy!

The school will be purchasing the supplies your child will need.  The school collects a $50 fee for the supplies.  Please pay this through Cashless Schools as soon as you are able.

P4K Needs You!

KCS has a strong and committed parent group who do so many things to support the teachers and students.  If you are interested in volunteering your time, please send an email to Mrs. Connors (Principal) at Marcie.Connors@nbed.nb.ca.  We are so grateful for all that is done to support our school and students!!!

Hot Lunch Program

Hot lunches will be available for purchase on Tuesday and Thursday starting the week of September 22nd.  Tuesday’s options will vary every few weeks and Thursday’s will always be pizza.

Please place your order through Cashless Schools.  This information is automatically available to the school, so we know how many lunches to order each week.

Lunch orders must be made in advance if at all possible. If you want to place an order after orders close on Cashless Schools, but did not order online, please contact Miss Carlyn and we will accommodate if at all possible.

What’s my child’s class up to these days?

Parent communication is as important to us as it is to you.  You can expect to receive regular emails from your child’s teacher with general information on what is happening in the class and what is coming up.

You can also expect to receive school wide information from the principal on a regular basis.

Can I email/call my child’s teacher?

Always!  Your child’s teacher should be your first point of contact for everything.

However, emails may not be checked until break times or after school; if the matter is urgent (change to after school plan, etc..), please call the office and Ms. Moreau will advise the homeroom teacher.
